Wills

A will sets how you would like your estate to be managed after you have died. If you die without a will, this is called intestacy and the Administration Act 1969 will apply. You might be surprised who will inherit your assets if you die intestate. Having a well drafted will is one of the most fundamental things that you can do to look after your family in the event that you die.

A will needs to be prepared carefully to reflect the circumstances of each client. At Shanahans in New Lynn we have been preparing wills for our clients for over 50 years. Where possible we "future proof" our wills so that our clients' dont need to come in and change them as their families grow. As Shanahans has specialised in administering estates in West Auckland for over 50 years, we know what works and what doesn't.

If you would like us to prepare a will for you then we will need to review your relationships and your assets in detail. Attached is a questionnaire that we like to use when clients come in. You might find it helpful to start the process. If you would like to talk to us about preparing your will then call us, its probably going to be cheaper and easier then you think to give yourself, and your family, some peace of mind.
